SSC JHT Exam Pattern
- Paper-I will consist of Computer Based Objective Type – Multiple Choice Questions.
- Paper-II will be of descriptive type.
- There will be 0.25 negative mark for each wrong answer in Paper-I.
- Candidates will be given 2 hours in both papers.
The JHT Paper 1 exam is designed to test the correct use of language and literature, words, phrases, idioms, moreover, to test the ability to write in Hindi and English languages, and to test a candidate’s comprehension.
There will be 2 types for translation in SSC JHT Paper 2 –
- Hindi to english
- English to Hindi.
- Essay in hindi and english

SSC JHT Syllabus : Tier -I
Part-1: General Hindi – Under this section, questions will be asked from Hindi grammar like Sandhi, Samas, synonyms, Hindi phrases / idioms, understanding of Hindi, Hindi knowledge, etc.
Part-2: General English – Under this section questions will be asked from English Grammar, Comprehension, Sentence Completion and Structure, Vocabulary, Articles, Tenses, Spelling Test, Unseen Passages, Synonyms etc.
SSC JHT Syllabus : Tier -II
This paper of SSC JHT is designed to test candidates’ translation skills and their ability to write as well as understand Hindi and English languages accurately and effectively. This examination will include the following things –
- Paragraph Translation from Hindi to English
- Article translation from English to Hindi
- Essay in English
- Essay in Hindi
